Nike
You can't win. So win.
Design
Brief
"
Create a custom shoebox for a Nike
enthusiast. Designers will use fundamental design
principles—such as typography, imagery, and patterns—
while integrating Nike’s brand guidelines with the bold,
expressive style of the 1960s Pop Art movement.

01
Inspiration and Research
As part of the project brief, I needed to select an athlete and blend them with the Pop Art style. I selected Roy Lichtenstein and researched his style. I was inspired by the 1960s nuclear housewife model and imagery.

02
Finding the Athelete
I was inspired by the Nike Super Bowl commercial about "You can't win. So win." The ad showcased a variety of female athletes, but Sha'Carri Richardson stood out the most to me. Her style reflects the colorful and outward spirit of the Pop Art era.

03
Rough Drafts
Working with the box die-line, I began on illustrations. I blended the comic-strip housewife imagery with Sha'Carri Richardson's profile, juxtaposing the freedoms of women then and now.

04
Core Design
After creating illustrations, I found my core design concept and brought it into Adobe. Using the suites, I was able to mirror the Pop Art style, creating a design that molded Sha'Carri Richardson and Roy Lichtenstein into the "So win" attitude.

05
Ready for Production
After finalizing my core design, I decided to focus on messaging. I maneuvered the messaging design around the box, creating a dynamic interactive experience where the words can be read with the box opened and closed.

Write-up for Presentation
On the bottom of the box is the concept and objective of the project, here is that written write up used during the presentation of the final self-constructed box.
